I have a naked oat that I was able to grow out last year - portageperennials.wordpress.com/2013/03/09/oats-3/ and portageperennials.wordpress.com/2013/04/22/oat-harvest-in-the-spring-in-canada/. It is really easy to thresh, not quite as easy as Faust barley but very easy none the less. The husk is like rice paper. It is not perennial but if anyone is interested in some for a perennial breeding programme, I have a bit to share.
