A newly-bred plant from russia sold as Ebereschenmispel (rowanmedlar) in a german rare plant nursery. There is not much more information given other than it being a cross of Sorbus Aucuparia with Mespilus Germanica and that fruits supposedly have a "rare" taste, whatever that means. The plant i have was kind of "surviving" for three years, but not thriving, and made some fruit for the first time this year. I bagged the fruit with a wire protection using a piece of old tights to prevent them from falling down or birds from eating them. There are five berries that are already fairly large compared to ordinary rowan berries. I plan on sowing the seeds for fun to see what will come out of it. I also plan on pruning it back severely this winter because i noticed how small the rootstock was when i transplanted it and i hope to reinvigorate it that way.
