How to find scientific papers for breeding projects

i've created this thread so that we can put our tips to find relevant documentation

Here is how i proceed. Disclaimer, it is barely legal, but it may still be ethical if one considers that scientific publications from work paid on public money should be open source.

My two entry points are :
* Google scholar : scholar.google.com
* Google books : books.google.com

When i find some relevant article or book that is unavailable, i search on :
* libgen.org/scimag/ with title of the article found on google scholar
* libgen.org with title of scientific book found on google books

For example with a broad search like on brassica breeding :
* A bunch of good articles : libgen.org/scimag/?s=brassica+breeding&siteid=&v=&i=&p=&redirect=1
* A bunch of good books : libgen.org/search.php?req=brassica+breeding&open=0&view=simple&column=def

It isn't "barely legal", it is how background research in science is done these days.

I just completed my PhD and google was my best friend when I was trying to find some obscure research.  The older methods of finding papers are...  exhausting and antiquated.

I was not talking about the google scholar part

The other part appears to be perfectly legal in the country that is hosting it...
